2013 Gallery

The Sidney Fine Art Show opening celebration was a gala event in which Sponsors, Patrons, artists and other invited guests had a chance to preview the show, attend the awards ceremony and were treated to a talk by Jon Tupper, Director of the Art Gallery of Victoria who gave a talk about his background and shared some very interesting observations and thoughts on the art of curating for art galleries. The opening was well attended and Janice Robertson, one of this year’s jurors, shared the following comments:

“This year I had the honour of being one of the three jurors for the annual Sidney Fine Arts show. Thanks to the organizational skills of the huge team of volunteers that make this show come together, I really enjoyed the experience. Everyone I worked with was pleasant and knew exactly what they were supposed to be doing. We reviewed over a thousand entries, and the caliber of work submitted was impressive and diverse.

I attended the opening night and was delighted to see the first class presentation of the accepted works. This is a show well worth seeing, and artists and volunteers should be proud of what they have created together. Congratulations everyone.”
