Cindy Gibson is a designer-maker of domestic-ware pottery, sculpture and ceramic lighting. She holds a BFA (hons) from the University of Manitoba, and a Pottery Apprenticeship done in Heidelberg, Germany. With a multi-media background she also includes painting, printmaking and textiles in her studio practice.
Cindy’s artwork has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe and Canada. Her tiles and sculptures grace Tudor homes and gardens in England and numerous pieces are held in private and corporate collections around the world.
Arts-sector employment such as teaching, freelance curating and technical consulting has added depth to Cindy’s career. She is also a popular workshop presenter who enjoys encouraging the skills of others.
Cindy has been an active member of several guilds, group studios and artist-run galleries such as the Surrey Guild of Craftsman Gallery (UK), where she served as juror, board member and curated many exhibitions.
Cindy was employed in the Art, Ceramics and Textiles Department at Farnham College (UK) before moving home to Canada and settling in Victoria in 2003.
